Delivering interactive workshops and After School Clubs bringing history alive to inspire and engage KS2/3 students

HISTORY ALIVE! activities enable students to get hands on with history, putting them in the driving seat to experience the crucial decisions and ‘what ifs’ of history, helping them understand why events took shape in the way they did.

Topics Include:

Roman / Anglo Saxon / Viking Invasion and Settlement (Units 6A, 6B, 6C)
Tudor Exploration (linked to KS2 Unit 19) and the Spanish Armada
Rich and Poor in Tudor times (linked to KS2 Unit 8)
Elizabeth I’s relationship with Mary, Queen of Scots
Florence Nightingale and the Crimea (linked to KS1 Unit 4)
Causes of the First World War (KS3)
The Christmas Truce of 1914 (KS3)

Bespoke activities have included:

Local history issues (these have included the Bombardment of Hartlepool in 1914 and the Battle of Britain over the North-East in 1940)
Specific anniversaries (including the end of Elizabeth I’s reign, 1603-2003, the Charge of the Light Brigade, 1854-2004 and Trafalgar, 1805-2005)
Museum contracts, including the Royal Arsenal, Greenwich and Hartlepool where they have funded our work in their local schools

Most of these activity sessions now available as stand alone Project Packs for school use in conjunction with the National Curriculum, complete with Teacher Notes and all supporting materials / resources.

Come and see us at the Warrior Bazaar Show where we will be offering children the chance to build their own model ship, plane or building and learn something about the history of the period, as well as developing their fine motor skills, 3D awareness and artistic talents! Each project takes approximately half an hour to complete (depending on thoroughness!) – ideal if ‘Dad’ is busy exploring other parts of the Show! £1.50 covers the cost of materials.
